How to Apply Tribal Makeup

Tribal makeup is becoming the newest trend in beauty. No longer restricted to belly dancers and ceremonies, exotic, rich colors that can be seen from a distance are giving way to personal expression like tattoos. But unlike tattoos, the look can be washed off and changed according to your mood and occasion.

  • Bright eyeshadow with glitter
  • Vibrant, dark eyeshadow (at least two colors)

Instructions

    • 1

Find a photo depicting the design you want to create on your face. Apply foundation to your face and set with powder. Apply dark colored blush on your cheekbones.

    • 2

Apply glitter eyeshadow over your entire eyelid up to the brow. Fill in the lid creases with the dark eyeshadow.

    • 3

Using the black liner pencil, outline the entire lower lash line. Then, apply an even, heavy coat of the black mascara.

    • 4

Using the light brown pencil liner, create the pattern of your design. For example, it might be a scroll design around the outer corners of your eyes. Place the bindis along the lines you have drawn.

    • 5

Finish by lining your lips and applying the dark lipstick and gloss.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use false eyelashes for an even more dramatic look.

  • Rhinestones can be used in place of the traditional bindis.

  • As with any product, make sure there are no ingredients involved to which you are allergic.
