How to Take Boudoir Portraits
Boudoir photographs are pictures of a soon-to-be-bride in sexy poses and wearing little to no clothes. Typically, the photographs are presented to the groom as a wedding day gift. Boudoir photographs are sexy keepsakes for the lucky groom and a peek into what happily ever after will look like with his bride. Use preparation and practice to surprise your groom with passionate and tasteful boudoir photographs.

1
Find a reputable photographer. Boudoir photographs are personal and need to be done in a professional and discreet manner. Because you will be in revealing attire, you need to feel comfortable with the photographer. If friends or relatives have taken boudoir photographs, ask one of them to recommend a photographer. If you do not know anyone who can provide you with a recommendation, search for photographers who specialize in boudoir photography.

2
Create a plausible alibi. Boudoir photographs are typically a surprise for the groom. Therefore, you will need an alibi for the time you will be spending with the photographer. According to TheKnot.com, boudoir photo sessions usually last about two hours. If the timing of the photo shoot would make your fiancé curious about your whereabouts, think of an alibi ahead of time. If you are taking along a friend or relative to the photo shoot, enlist that person in creating your alibi.

3
Beautify yourself. Before you attend the photo session, handle all of the necessary beauty routines. Remove all unwanted hair and pamper yourself with spa treatments such as facials, massages, pedicures and manicures. Purchase figure-flattering sexy attire. Boudoir photography is typically done with lingerie, but it could also be done with sexy, revealing clothes or with tasteful, suggested nudity. If you feel you have "problem areas" on your body, work out in the gym before the photo session. Keep in mind that with digital photography, the photographer can adjust any unflattering images.

4
Practice in the mirror. When at home alone, practice your poses in the mirror. Your photographer will help you on the set, but becoming more comfortable with your body beforehand will help you exude confidence. Get to know your body and what poses are most flattering for you.

5
Pose like a professional. Once on the set, take instruction from the photographer and insert your own ideas. Use the information you learned during your practice sessions. Your confidences will shine through the picture. If the photographer suggests a pose or outfit that you are not comfortable with, politely decline to comply with his wishes.
