How to Style Head Scarves

Head scarves are among the most versatile of accessories. You can style them in many different ways, and they come in an endless variety of patterns and colors. A head scarf with an attractive color or pattern can help to add life and visual interest to even the most basic ensemble. There are a tremendous number of options for styling a head scarf, and once you are familiar with the basics, you can begin to create your own designs.

Instructions

Head Wrap

1. Fold your head scarf into a triangular shape.

2. Place the middle of the long edge of the triangle in the middle of your forehead.

3. Tie the ends of the scarf into a tight knot at the back of your head, on top of your hair.

4. Tuck the point of the scarf at the back of your head underneath the knot you tied.

Bandana Style

1. Fold your head scarf into a triangle.

2. Place the middle of the long edge of the triangle of your head scarf onto the upper part of your head, either on your hairline or just above

3. Tie the ends of the scarf at the nape of your neck.

Head and Neck Wrap

1. Fold your scarf into a triangle and place the straight edge at the center of your hairline.

2. Let the ends of the scarf fall down to your shoulders.

3. Cross the ends over one another in front of your throat and gently pull them towards the opposite sides

4. Tie the ends in a knot behind your neck.

Head and Ponytail Wrap

1. Fold your scarf beginning at one corner and continue to fold it over onto itself until you reach the opposite corner. You should have a long, flat swath of fabric.

2. Place the middle of the folded scarf on the crown of your head.

3. Pull the ends down behind your ears, toward the nape of your neck.

4. Cross the ends at the back of your neck and wind them around your hair, creating a ponytail or a side ponytail.

5. Secure the scarf with a knot.
