1
Research the requirements which your particular state places on small businesses seeking a vending license. You can do this by visiting the chamber of commerce in your area, going to your library, or by visiting your Secretary of State's website and looking up vending license requirements.
-
2
Fill out all necessary forms specifying the nature of your business, proof of general liability insurance and all of the required pieces of tax data which have been gathered by your business. There are different types of vending licenses that you can apply for (i.e., Street Vendor, Food Vendor's License, Retail Cigarette Vendor's License, etc.), so make sure you obtain the vending license which you need.

3
Pay all of the required fees for each segment of the vending license which you are applying for. These costs can vary between application fees, sales tax permits, trademarks and various certificates which declare you to be an official business. To find out how much the fees are for your state, visit the chamber of commerce or Secretary of State websites.

Pass all necessary inspections if required. A food-based vending business will have to pass inspection before supplying product. Call your county health department and make sure you meet the requirements before scheduling an inspection. Once you have passed, make sure you display all necessary certificates and forms in a public location so that they will easily be seen, whether on the machine, at your office or in both sites.
