How to Cheaply Color Brown Hair Purple

      Avoid washing your hair for two days. Hair dye takes better to dirty hair that has natural oils in it. Your hair color will fade more easily if you wash your hair immediately before dying it.

Remove one section at a time and saturated it in an at-home bleaching kit that has been mixed exactly according to instructions. If you are only dying a portion of your hair purple, bleach only those sections. Leave on until hair is a very pale yellow or white color, up to 30 minutes, then rinse your hair in the shower. Wait for your hair to dry completely before dying it.
