How to Troubleshoot a Samsung LCD TV with No Power

Problems with a television's power supply are often difficult to repair without the need of a qualified service technician. Before sending your television in for repair, try troubleshooting the television in your home. Though most problems require service, other causes of a television not powering on are from outside sources. By troubleshooting your Samsung LCD TV you may save the time and money of having it serviced.

Instructions

    • 1

Check that the power cord is securely plugged into the power outlet.

    • 2

Make sure that the power outlet is receiving electricity by plugging a different device into the plug and turning the power on. If the other device does not work you likely have a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

    • 3

Replace the blown fuse or reset the circuit breaker as needed. If it happens again, an electrician should assess the problem.

    • 4

Contact Samsung Support if Steps 1 to 3 do not solve your problem. Only a trained service technician should attempt to fix the power problem with your television.

Ok Mr. dewiz101, today 3/26/10, last night we left our WII console left on and our 40" Samsung LCD TV turned off. When we got up and tried to turned our tv on, it would not come on. We had the red light flashing and I tried everything I knew how and nothing. I chated with someone on Samsung web site and he told me it was something inside the tv. So I called around my area to see how much it will cost me to get it fixed, somewhere between 50 to 100 dollars. Which I wish Samsung would pick up the bill for this cost to get it fix. Thank you. Does anyone else have the same problem?
