How to Mount an ISO File
An ISO file, or ISO image, is a file that is utilized by CD-ROMs and large computer applications such as operating systems like Windows and Linux. If you download an ISO file, you may need a special program on your computer to open it. Downloading and installing Daemon Tools, a popular program that mounts and creates ISO files, is simple and can be done in just a few minutes.

Download Daemon Tools Lite at the following web address:

The Daemon Tools Lite program download button is the third item on the list, and falls between Daemon Tools Pro Standard Trial and Daemon Tools Toolbar. Click the "download" button next to Daemon Tools Lite to begin downloading the free software.

Install Daemon Tools using the installation software that appears on your desktop after the program is downloaded.
The Daemon Tools icon, a tiny red box with a red lightning bolt in the center, will appear in the system tray. The system tray is the area at the bottom of the screen with clock and sound settings.

Right-click the Daemon Tools icon in the system tray and choose "Virtual CD/DVD-ROM" from the pop-up menu. Choose "Device 0" from the list of drives. Drive 0 is the virtual CD-ROM drive that the program will use to mount the ISO file.

Select the "mount image" function.
A new window will appear. Choose the ISO file you wish to mount and click "open."

The ISO file will mount and appear for you to view.

Tips & Warnings
Some newer versions of Windows have ISO-viewing programs built-in. Check your operating system's documentation to see if your computer has the ability to mount ISO files automatically.
