1
Separate hair into three to four horizontal sections (as though you were putting hair half-up) depending on how much hair you have. Make sure that the line for each separation is straight, otherwise your extensions will appear lopsided. Clip each section up; make sure to leave as much of the actual separation exposed, as that's where you are going to clip the extension in.

2
Separate the wefts by length. The longest wefts should be clipped into the separation closest to your neck. The shorter wefts should be clipped in the separation closest to the top of your head. After you clip in the weft for each section, let the natural hair for that section down. When you let the hair down, the weft may feel a little loose and you may need to make adjustments. Repeat this for each section. Don't try to squeeze extra hair extensions in different places around your head. It can create awkward bulges and make the hair look unnatural.

Use a curling iron with a 1 to 1 1/2 inch barrel. Wrap the hair around the iron. If you use an oven glove when you wrap the hair around the barrel, you'll be able to make tighter curls without worrying about getting burned. Always angle the barrel down. If you turn the iron in different directions, your curls will all point in different directions. Wrap the hair that is closest to your scalp around the base of the iron and work your way toward the tip of the iron. Do not use the clip on the curling iron to hold the hair in place. Instead, wear an oven glove and hold the end of the hair down with the tip of your finger. Hold this position for about 15 seconds. However, be aware of any odd smell or a change in texture of the hair to avoid ruining the extensions.

4
Don't neglect your natural hair that is peaking out from underneath and in between the hair extensions. If natural hair is long enough, curl it with the iron. You can even curl it with the extension. If hair is too short, pin it under the extensions with bobby pins.

5
Brush hair gently with finger to separate curls and create softer waves. Use a pea sized amount of hair shine serum; rub between your palms and tame fly away hair.

Tips & Warnings
A curling iron can only be used on 100 percent human hair extensions. If you are using synthetic hair extensions they must be purchased pre-curled. Always refer to the instructions on the packaging before washing, styling or drying hair extensions. The materials with which they are made vary, as do the instructions for caring for them.
