You can use foreign languages in the Microsoft Office suite.

Microsoft Excel lets you customize the default language and the editing languages. Choices include Chinese, English, Spanish, Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, German, Korean, French, Turkish and Tamil. When you change the default language in Excel, it changes the default language for all Office products on your computer. Changing the editing languages also affects all Office products.

Instructions

      Click the Microsoft "Office" button in Excel and click the "Excel Options" button to open a dialog box.

      Click the "Popular" tab on the left side of the screen if it isn't already selected.

      Click the "Language Settings" button. A new window opens.

      Click any language on the left side of the screen that you want to be able to work with. Click the "Add" button to move that language to the box on the right, enabling it for use in Excel and your other Office products.

      Click the down arrow in the Primary Editing Language section to change the default language for Excel and all of Office.

      Click "OK" to close the window and then click "OK" again.

Tips & Warnings

  • Microsoft Office only has limited support for some languages.
