How to Create a Web Page Size in Photoshop

Create the size for your web page in Adobe Photoshop as the base for your web page layout. Determine the desired size of your web pages based on the screen resolution statistics of the majority of your website viewers, or use standard web page sizes as the base of your design.       Open Adobe Photoshop. Under the "File" menu select "New." In the pull-down boxes located next to "Width" and "Height," select "Pixels" as the unit of measurement. Base measurements should be 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels tall. Expanded measurements should be 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels tall.

      In the new image window in Photoshop, set the resolution to "72" and select "pixels/inch" from the pull-down menu.

      In the field labeled "Color Mode" in the "New Image" window, select "RGB Color" from the pull-down menu.

      Set the background contents to reflect the color of the background you would like for your web page.

      Create the design you want to appear as the background for your web page layout.

      Once you have completed the design of your web page, select "Save For Web & Devices" located under the "File" menu. Select the optimization options for your web page layout and select "Save".

      Open your HTML editor and import the saved image file to complete your web page layout.
