How to Clear History From Search Bar
If you use the Internet on a public computer or even one at work, you may want to clear the traces of sites you visited off of the search bar. This can be important if you are performing online banking or possibly purchasing something for another individual who uses the computer. Although there are a variety of different web browsers available, all of the search bar information can be removed in the same way.

Close your Internet Explorer web browser.

Click "Start" followed by "Control Panel." This is going to open a new window with an assortment of different icons and options.

Double-click the "Internet Options" icon and click the "General" tab once the Internet Options window loads.

Click "Clear History" followed by "Yes" and finally "OK." This is going to clear out all of the Internet information and search bar data from all of the Web browsers on the PC.
Mac

Launch the web browser you use on the Mac. This is most likely going to be either Safari or Firefox.

Click the "Safari" tab, followed by "Preferences." This opens a Preferences window. Select the "Security" tab to open up viewing information.

Click "Show Cookies" and a window opens displaying all of the cookies left over from sites you have visited. Click "Remove All" then approve the removal of the cookies. This is going to remove all of the search bar content from Safari.

Select the "Tools" tab if you are using Firefox. In the tools tab click "Clear Private Data." This opens a new small window with a few different options for clearing the Internet browser data. Check off the boxes next to "Browser History" and "Saved Form and Search History."

Click "Clear Private Data Now." Approve the the removal and all the history in your search bar is removed.
