How to Open Kindle Files

The manufacturer claims that at approximately ten ounces, the Kindle weighs less than most paperback books. The device also includes a variety of features (for example, word look-up, note taking and adjustable text sizes), which allow users to personalize and get the most out of their reading experience.

      Move the power switch, which is located on the top edge of the Kindle, to the on position to activate the device.

      Press the Home key, which is located on the right edge of the Kindle. All your reading materials will appear on the home screen, with the most recently viewed or acquired items listed first.

      Move the five-way controller up and down to scroll through the home screen.

      Use the Kindle's search feature to find and open files if you have a large number of reading materials stored on your device. Use the keyboard to enter the search term(s) and the five-way controller to indicate which content category you wish to search for that item.

      Stop once you line up the cursor with the desired item. Press down on the controller to select the item.

  • Use the Show and Sort menu to change the way in which the Kindle displays your reading materials on the home screen to suit your personal preference. By doing this, you can sort items by title or author.
