How to Put Music From My Computer on My Sony Ericsson Phone

Cellular telephones made since 2005 are capable of so much more than telephone calls. In addition to text and media messaging, some cellular telephones are capable of Internet and email access, taking pictures and storing data files.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 telephone is one such device. It is capable of storing and playing back music files, once these files are transferred from a computer system to the phone.

Things You'll Need

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 phone
  • MicroSD media card (16 GB or less)
  • MicroSD media reader (USB)
  • Computer running Windows ME or later operating system
  • Music files in MP3 or AAC format

      Insert the MicroSD media card into the MicroSD media reader. Plug the media reader into a free USB port on the computer; the computer will recognize the media reader as a removable disk drive. Open Windows Explorer, and double-click the removable disk drive icon.

      Copy the music files to the removable disk drive. Unplug the media reader from the computer USB port. Remove the MicroSD media card from the media reader.

      Plug the MicroSD media card into the MicroSD slot on the Xperia X10 phone.

Tips & Warnings

  • Windows ME and Windows 2000 may require the computer to be rebooted after inserting the media reader into the USB port before the media reader can be used.
