How to Sync Xbox 360 Controller

Sync a wireless controller to connect it with your Xbox 360.

Wireless Xbox 360 controllers need to sync with your game console in order for them to work. The process only takes a few seconds. If you are having problems syncing your controller, try installing new batteries.

Things You'll Need

• xbox 360
• xbox controller

Instructions

1. Turn on the Xbox 360.

2. Press and hold the guide button on the controller until it turns on. This button is located in the center of the controller and resembles the Xbox 360 logo.

3. Press and release the connect button on the Xbox 360 console.

4. Press and release the connect button on the controller. This button is located on the back of the controller next to the batter cover.

5. When the lights on the console stop flashing, the controller is connected.

Tips & Warnings

• Xbox 360 wireless controllers are assigned to one of four positions. Each position is represented by one of the lights surrounding the power button on the console and controller guide button.
