How to Reverse a Bad BIOS Flash
Flashing a BIOS (basic input output system) is not a step to take lightly. The BIOS is a small program stored on a chip on the motherboard that tells the computer the basic operating procedures for the hardware. Flashing a BIOS is a one way process that can not be reversed by uninstalling. If you flash your BIOS with the wrong software or in any way incorrectly you will effectively bring the computer to a complete stop.
Instructions

-
1
Turn off the computer.
-
2
Disconnect the power cable and open the computer tower. You may need to remove any add-on cards and disconnect hard drives to make room to work.
-
-
3
Locate the BIOS chip. This will be a small chip that can be lifted off of the motherboard. Unless you know what it looks like from past experience, you will need to find where it is located by looking at the motherboard's manual. Remove the chip.
-
4
Order a new BIOS chip. You will need to contact the motherboard manufacturer and give them your motherboard model number and explain that you need a new BIOS chip because of a flash problem.
-
5
Insert the new BIOS chip where the old one was. Reconnect everything on the computer and it should restart. You may have to enter the BIOS to set up any hardware that is not detected automatically or to change any settings that you prefer to change.
