How to Take Shark Cartilage
Cartilage is a connective tissue that works within the skeletal system. Sharks have a vast amount of cartilage, which contains proteins, calcium salts, glycoproteins and proteoglycans. Shark cartilage supplements are marketed as dietary supplements. Some people use shark cartilage to complement traditional cancer therapies. However, the American Cancer Society (see reference 2) warns that shark cartilage is not an accepted treatment for cancer, and there is no evidence that it works. Some people may also try shark cartilage for treating arthritis and psoriasis.
