How to Scan With Xerox Workcentre 4260

Xerox Corporation is a Fortune 500 company established in 1906, and it's one of the leading manufacturers of printers, copiers and multifunction machines. The Xerox WorkCentre 4260 is a multifunction office printer and scanner; it has a user-friendly digital control panel that makes scanning a document simple; scanning with the WorkCentre 4260 only takes a few minutes.

  • Open the top portion of the Xerox WorkCentre to access the scanning glass. Place the document face-down on the glass, lining up the arrows. If you want to scan multiple pages, insert the pages into the document feeder (face up).

  • Tap the "Services" button on the main display control panel. Select "Network Scanning." In this menu, you can adjust your scan preferences.

  • Tap "Output Color" to choose black and white, grayscale or color. Select "2-Sided Scanning" if you want to scan a document's front and back. Select "Filing Options" to change the file-type output. You can choose "PDF," "JPEG" or "TIF."

  • Tap "Layout Adjustment" if you want to change the output size. Tap "Advanced Settings" if you want to lighten, darken or change the file resolution.

  • Press "Start" to begin your scan. The system will take a few minutes to complete the process; check the status by pressing "Job Status."

Tips & Warnings

  • Once your file is scanned, it will be stored in the Xerox WorkCentre memory. You can email the document as an attachment, if desired. To do this, Tap "Email" from the control panel. Enter your recipient information, and select "Options" to add the file as an attachment.
