Open a graphics program, such as Paint or Photoshop on your computer. These programs will allow you to create your logo and save it in an image format. Most computers come with a free, basic graphics program.

Select the text tool and type in your business or project name. Try selecting different fonts to see which you like. Each word can be a different font to create even more drama.

Choose your colors. You can choose one color for the complete text, or alternate coordinating colors. Darker colors will show up better on lighter backgrounds. Try placing the larger words in a more vibrant color and smaller words like "the" in black.

Choose a size for your font. Place emphasis on certain words by making them larger. You can even make the first letters larger than the rest of the word.

Choose the font direction. The font can be vertical, horizontal, or even diagonal. Play with the direction of the words. Think about what your logo would look like on a card or letterhead, making sure it will fit nicely.

Add an image. If you have the rights to a small image you can insert it into your logo. Align the text around the image, or place it directly above or below the text.

Save your image. In the save as box, choose jpeg as the format. Save it in a place where you can access it frequently. You can now import your completed logo into letterhead, business cards and websites.
