How to Wash Fake Hair Pieces
Fill a sink with cold water and one cap full of synthetic hair shampoo. To completely blend the shampoo add the shampoo to the sink while the water is still running. If your fake hair pieces are tangled or tend to tangle use a conditioning synthetic hair shampoo.
Submerge the fake hair piece in water until it is completely saturated. Carefully swish the fake hair piece in the water for two or three minutes and wash the hair netting to remove dirt and oil. If the fake hair piece has odor or has been stored for a long period of time let it soak in the soapy water for 10 to 15 minutes.
Drain the soapy water from the sink without removing the fake hair piece. Refill the sink with cold water and rinse all of the soap from the fake hair piece. Once all of the soap has been rinsed away remove the fake hair piece and carefully squeeze it to remove all excess water.
Spray the fake hair piece with conditioning spray designed to be used on synthetic hair pieces. After spraying the hair, brush it out carefully with a wig brush. Concentrate on removing tangles but do not brush or pull the hair too hard.
Place the fake hair piece on a wig stand to dry overnight. Using a wig stand will help prevent tangling during the drying process. Make sure the wig stand is in a dry room with a consistently moderate temperature.
