How to Swim With Ringworm

Ringworm is a contagious condition spread by both direct and indirect contact. The fungus is most common on the arms and legs and is characterized by a circular appearance. Swimming in a pool should not be considered until the ringworm is gone, as it can be spread through the water.

Things You'll Need

  • Mustard seeds
  • Over-the-counter medication
  • Stay out of the pool. Swimming can not only pass the infection on to other people, but also have an adverse effect on your recovery time.

  • Use a paste of crushed mustard seeds on your infection. Wash the skin thoroughly with hot water and apply the paste. This will help the infection clear. Over-the-counter anti-fungal medications such as Lotrimin are also available.

  • Swim once the ringworm is gone.
