How to Stop Itching Naturally
Itching can result from an insect bite, parasites, fungal infections, or from an allergy that leads to a skin rash or hives. Scratching can actually be harmful, as this worsens swelling and you risk breaking the skin, which can lead to an infection. Natural remedies for itching can be very effective when anti-itch medications are not available or desired. In fact, some of the most effective anti-itch remedies are natural, using items that can be found around the house.

1
Break off an aloe plant leaf at the base. This succulent plant contains a soothing gel that will help relieve itching and discomfort from insect bites, rashes, and sunburns. Aloe also moisturizes, making it effective on itching due to dry skin.
-
2
Squeeze the aloe leaf to extract the gel and apply it directly onto the itchy skin. If using a long leaf, you'll want to break the leaf into several pieces so you can extract the gel easily.

-
3
Allow the aloe gel to air dry on your skin. Avoid contact with clothing or furniture while the gel dries.
-
4
Place several ice cubes inside a Ziploc bag and add water until the bag is approximately half full. Zip the bag closed. If available, a reusable ice pack is a good alternative.
-
5
Apply the cold compress to the itchy area for a period of 20 minutes. The cold will eliminate itching and reduce the swelling that's often associated with bug bites.

6
Repeat these steps as needed to relieve itching.
