How to Remove the Kaseya Agent from a Computer


Kaseya Agent is a program that system administrators can deploy to networked computers to provide services such as virus protection, software upgrades and enforcement of security policies. If you have purchased a secondhand computer from a business, you may find this among the startup items in Windows if the previous owner failed to format the machine before selling it. If you do not need this program, remove it from the computer.

  • Open the Start menu and click "Control Panel."

  • Click the "View By" menu in the upper-right corner of the window and select "Small Icons."

  • Click "Administrative Tools."

  • Double-click "Services." This opens a new window titled "Services."

  • Double-click the service named "Kaseya Agent" to open it in a new window.

  • Click the "Stop" button.

  • Click the "Startup Type" menu and select "Disabled."

  • Click "OK" and close every open window.

  • Open the Start menu and type "regedit" in the text field at the bottom. Press "Enter" to open the Registry Editor.

  • Open the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE," "SYSTEM," "CurrentControlSet" and "Services" folders on the left side of the Registry Editor window.

  • Right-click the "KAPFA" folder under the "Services" folder and select "Delete."

  • Right-click the "KaseyaAgent" folder under the "Services" folder and select "Delete."

  • Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

  • Open the Start menu and click "Computer."

  • Double-click the "C:" hard drive icon.

  • Double-click the "Program Files" folder.

  • Right-click the "Kaseya" folder and select "Delete."

  • Double-click the "InstallShield Installation Information" folder.

  • Right-click the "{48C76121-4F90-11D5-9884-0050BA85A903}" folder and select "Delete."

  • Close all open windows to return to the desktop.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also uninstall Kaseya Agent by opening the Start menu and typing "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{48C76121-4F90-11D5-9884-0050BA85A903}\Setup.exe" UNINSTALL in the text field at the bottom of the menu.
