How to Activate Javascript for Realplayer
Realplayer is a video streaming solution created and distributed by Real.com. This software can also be downloaded onto the desktop and used as a multimedia solution. However, websites that use Realplayer embedded in the browser, use Javascript for certain functions. When users try to view a video in the browser, an error is displayed, alerting them that Javascript needs to be enabled. Enabling Javascript is accomplished in the settings of the browser.

Activating Javascript with Internet Explorer

Click the "Tools" menu from the main menu in Internet Explorer. Select "Options" from the menu. Click the "Security" tab in the dialog box that opens. This is the section where Javascript is enabled.

Click the "Custom Level" option. When the dialog box opens, scroll down the section labeled "Scripting." In this section, check the box labeled "Active Scripting."

Click the "OK" button to save your settings. When the confirmation screen is shown, click the "Yes" button to confirm. Click the "OK" button to save the changes in the security section.

Close the Internet Explorer browser and restart the application. Navigate to the location of the Realplayer web page. The video should now run without issue.
Activating Javascript with Firefox

Click the "Tools" menu from the main menu in Firefox. Select "Options" from the list of menu items. This opens the main properties dialog box, where settings are changed for Firefox configurations.

Select the "Web Features" option from the list of tabs. This opens a new section in the properties dialog box.

Check the box labeled "Enable Javascript" in this section. Once finished, click the "OK" button to save your settings.

Reboot Firefox and navigate to the location of the Realplayer web page. The video should now display without the error.
