How to Download Android Apps For Your Google Phone

Android smartphone users have two options for downloading and installing apps onto their device -- directly from the phone or through the Android Market website. Downloads from an Android phone run through the Android Market application, while the Android Market website provides a Web-based view of the application store and automatically syncs purchased or downloaded apps to your Android phone over the Web.

Instructions

  1. On Phone

    • 1

Open the applications menu and tap on "Market" to open the Android Market.

    • 2

Tap Apps or Games to view different apps or games categories, then tap on a category to view its apps. You can also search apps by tapping the magnifying glass at the top-right corner of the screen.

    • 3

Tap on an application's listing to open the app detail page, then tap the "FREE" button, or the button containing the price if it's a paid app.

    • 4

Press "OK" to accept the terms and conditions of the app. The app is downloaded to your Android smartphone.

    On Web

    • 5

Visit the Android Market website at market.android.com and sign in to your Google account.

    • 6

Browse through apps using the top apps charts or categories. You can also conduct a search by entering a term into the search box at the top right corner of the screen, then pressing the Enter key.
