How to Transfer My Favorites From AOL to Firefox

Save

The AOL Explorer Web browser is a software product distributed by AOL as a replacement and enhancement for Microsoft Internet Explorer. AOL Explorer supports features such as tabbed browsing and desktop widgets. If you are moving away from the AOL service, however, you may decide to try a different browser, such as Mozilla Firefox. Transfer your favorites from AOL Explorer to Firefox to avoid losing them when you change Web browsers.

  • Launch Firefox. Click "File" at the top of the window.

  • Click "Import." This launches the Firefox Import Wizard.

  • Click the radio button labeled "Microsoft Internet Explorer," and click "Next."

  • Confirm that the box marked "Favorites" has a check in it, and click "Next."

  • Click "Finish." Your favorites will be transferred from AOL Explorer to Firefox.

Tips & Warnings

  • Because AOL Explorer is an add-on that runs on top of the Internet Explorer engine, browser favorites are shared between the two programs. Any change made to one browser's favorites will be reflected in the other. For this reason, the steps described in this article work for transferring favorites from Internet Explorer to Firefox as well as AOL Explorer.
