Adobe Flash uses scenes to provide an extra level of organization for the user. This can be useful if you are creating a project with distinct parts. For example, in an animated movie, you could have 3 scenes: "Intro Credits," "Movie" and "Final Credits." Each scene has its own Timeline (group of Frames), however the frame number in a new scene always starts off from the previous scene's ending frame.
