Who says fabulous hair extensions (hair weaves) have to require hours in the salon and tons of money? Learn to do-it-yourself with gel and look like you just left the salon.

Things You'll Need

  • Hair weave on tracks
  • Hair bonding glue
  • Pro Style Gel
  • Hairspray/ spritz
  • Blow dryer
  • Wig cap (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Comb

How to Quick Weave with Hair Gel

  • Apply a generous amount of Pro Style Gel evenly throughout recently washed and conditioned hair. If you plan to leave your own hair showing in the front, leave out a small amount (approx. 1 inch thick) before styling the rest of your hair with the gel.

  • Use comb to style hair as flatly as possible against your head. This can be done by wrapping the hair, molding it, or styling it in a low ponytail in the back of your head---whichever you prefer.

  • Spray hairspray all over and dry with the blow dryer until hair is hard.

  • Using the track of weave, measure from ear to ear across the bottom of your head, and cut the track to fit. Apply a thin line of bonding glue directly to the track.

  • Spray track with spritz and attach it to your head. Blow dry for 5 seconds or until track is secure. Repeat this process on the top of your head as well.

  • Continue to cut and attach your tracks in smaller and smaller circles around your head as above. Continue until you have covered your entire head and a small circle no larger than 1 inch in diameter remains at the summit or crown of your head.

  • Cut a 1 to 2 inch track of weave. Apply a line of glue to the track and roll it so the top of the track forms a small circle.

  • Apply more glue to the top of the rolled track, and position it into the small open circle at the top of your head. Style as desired!

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not want to apply bonding glue directly to your hair, place the wig cap on your head so that the edge of the cap is as close to your hairline as possible. Note: Wearing a wig cap for an extended period of time may cause thinning and breakage around the edges of your hair.
  • If you desire a particular haircut or style, many hair stylists are able to cut quick weaves for you.
