How to Make the Color Lime Green

Mixing paints and materials to create different colors is a basic skill widely used by many artists and painters today. Making bright colors normally requires the mixing in of whites and other vibrant paints to achieve the desired color tone such as lime green.

Place green paint onto a pallet using a paint brush large enough to produce the amount of color that you desire. Using a different paint brush, place a smaller portion of yellow close by.

Mix the yellow with the green paint in a swirling motion using a new brush. Add a drop or two of water or wet the paintbrush slightly and mix thoroughly until a smooth color is produced.

Observe the color and determine if the correct amount of yellow has been mixed in. Repeat until the color lime green has been matched.
