How to Convert a Powerpoint File to an Executable File

By default, Microsoft Office PowerPoint saves presentations to its own file format, either .ppt or .pptx. This file format is excellent for easily distributing presentation amongst flash drives or for use on portable laptops. However, if any videos or music files are included with your PowerPoint, those need to be moved everywhere along with the presentation file. PowerPoint presentations can be converted into executable files to overcome this burden. With an executable presentation, only one file needs to be transferred and executed.

  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, 2007, or 2010

Saving as a PowerPoint Show Presentation

  • Click "File," or in the case of Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 click the "Office Button."
