Perfume is applied to the body to give you a pleasant scent. Some cheap perfumes aren't as concentrated and the scent ends up fading halfway through the day. You can either carry the bottle of perfume with you and continually apply it, or you can use a few methods that will keep the fragrance strong all day long. Don't give up your favorite scent because you can't seem to make it last long enough.
Things You'll Need
Take a shower and dry your skin with a towel. The moisture left in your skin will keep the perfume from evaporating as quickly.
Apply a thin layer of lotion onto your skin. This can be a plain, unscented lotion or a scent that matches the perfume you're using. Lotion works as what is called a "primer" and makes the perfume scent last longer.
Spray perfume onto the inside of your wrists and sides of your neck. These are pulse points and the extra heat produced from your body in these areas will keep the perfume scent strong.
Spray your hair with perfume. Your hair is poreous and will hold onto the scent longer than will skin.
Spray your clothing quickly with the perfume. Clothing absorbs the fragrance and offers another surface for your fragrance to adhere to, ensuring the scent lasts longer.
Tips & Warnings
- Spray a small portion of your clothing with perfume to test for a negative reaction, such as bleaching of the fabric.
