While everyone is looking for the fountain of youth to keep their faces looking younger, many people overlook one simple thing they can do to prevent wrinkles and saggy skin: facial exercises. The hardest thing about doing facial exercises is remembering to incorporate them into your daily fitness routine. Doing facial exercises will help you tone your muscles, thus keeping skin taught. A few minutes daily can help you fight wrinkles and sagging and maybe even prevent the need for plastic surgery.

How to Build Muscle in the Face

Look up at the ceiling, tilting your neck back. Open and close your jaw 10 times while in this position. This works against a double chin.

Keep your head tilted as in Step 1. Round your lips as if you are forming a big "O." Do this 10 times. This also works against a double chin.

Hold the unsharpened side of the pencil in your mouth. Keep it between your lips, but not past your teeth. Alternate between puckering and holding the pencil in a straight mouth 20 times. This prevents fine lines around your mouth.

Place your hands on your cheeks. Slowly and gently pull your cheeks down as you extend your smile. Repeat this 10 times to keep cheeks plump and full.

Put one finger of each hand over each eye. Gently pull your eyelids down as you raise your eyebrows up. Do this for a set of 10 to prevent wrinkles in your forehead.
