How to Use a Click Type Torque Wrench
Torque ensures that a fastener properly holds a given part in place. Without a torque wrench, you have no knowledge of the exact amount of force you apply to the fastener. Click style torque wrenches signal that you have reached the proper torque by emitting a click sound when you reach the desired torque setting. To ensure that a torque wrench is giving an accurate torque reading, you need to have the wrench calibrated by a professional annually. Also take the wrench to be evaluated if it receives a sharp blow from falling.

Thread the fastener into the threaded hole by hand.

Stop tightening the fastener when you click. Do not tighten the fastener past the click, or the fastener will not have the proper torque setting.
