How to Send a Fax From The Internet
The days of the office or home fax machine are numbered. But until that day arrives, people are finding ways to embrace new technology while still using the old technology. Most documents are sent via email by attaching a computer file or by scanning a paper document and sending the scan as an email attachment. But some businesses still send and receive faxes or have embraced the virtual fax machine. To go virtual, you must find an Internet fax solution, and you can toss the old fax machine. Several services are available, with a variety of pay schedules.

1
Search for an Internet fax service. The company has to provide the services you require. These might include high-volume faxing needs, Internet fax broadcasting, your own Internet fax number, receiving faxes online and possibly storage requirements. Pay attention to the terms. Internet fax services frequently charge a monthly fee for a set amount of faxed pages, then extra for each additional page you send over the allotted amount. If you do not send a large amount of faxes, consider a pay-as-you-go program or even free faxing.

Download the software of your selected Internet fax service, if that is required. Follow the instructions carefully. Keep the customer support number handy. Some fax by Internet services are completely web based. Simply sign into your account and follow the instructions from there.

Now you can begin faxing. Put your documents into the format required by your Internet fax program. If the documents are in paper format, you will need to scan and save them in a PDF format. If your document is in a word-processor format, most likely the Internet program will convert the document. If your software does not automatically convert a file, your best bet is to convert that document into a PDF format and send it that way.
