How to Create Cosmetic Bags
Cosmetic bags are easy to make and can be given away as gifts or sold at fairs and festivals. Cosmetic bags can also be used for more than just makeup. They are the right size for keys, toiletries, cash and even jewelry. With a few simple steps, you can make your own cosmetic bag at home. A no-sew bag can be finished within a few hours. Things You'll Need
- Old pair of jeans with two back pockets
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Decorative items (rhinestones, glitter, buttons, etc.)
- Fabric paint

Cut out the two back pockets of the jeans using scissors. Place the pockets face down onto a hard, flat surface.

Place a line of fabric glue on the edge of the right side, bottom and left side of one pocket. Do not add glue to the top of the pocket.

Position the second pocket on top of the glue, with the front side of the pocket facing up. Allow the pockets to dry.

Stick your hand inside of the small bag you have created to open it up a bit.

Cut three strips of fabric from the leftover jeans, each 12 inches long and 1 inch wide. Braid the strips together to create a handle for the cosmetic bag.

Attach one end of the braid into the top left corner of the pocket bag with fabric glue or a safety pin. Attach the other side of the braid to the right corner. If you used fabric glue, allow the bag to dry.

Decorate your cosmetic bag using fabric glue, rhinestones, glitter, buttons, ribbon or whatever else you can think of.
