You can change your Windows 7 Desktop photo, also called wallpaper quickly and easily. If you like variety, you can alternate photos and settings on your computer display as well. It takes very little effort, time and computer knowledge to do change your Microsoft Windows Desktop appearance.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows 7
  • Computer
  • Photos
  1. Step 1

Bring up your Microsoft Windows 7 Desktop. Let all the software load completely. You will know it is done when all icons appear in your Windows task bar in the lower left hand corner.

  2. Step 2

Right click (opposite of left click) once on a blank space on your Desktop where there are no icons. This will display a properties menu.

  3. Step 3

Choose personalize from the menu that appears. Notice the different categories of wallpaper that appear. Choose the one you like best. Wallpapers are displayed as tiny icons but you can double-click to see a full size image.

  4. Step 4

Click a folder, such as pictures if you would like a picture or wallpaper from your own collection or the Internet. Windows 7 will save this background in your collection for future reference.

  5. Step 5

Check the box that says change picture and choose amount of time you would like the wallpaper in Windows 7 to be displayed. This step is optional.

  6. Step 6

Select picture position. Here you may have to experiment until you find one that fits your screen size (resolution) the best. Choose what looks best for you, do not get caught up in the numbers or labels.

Tips & Warnings
  • Feel free to play with different backgrounds and settings. You can always return to your default.
