How to Get Dry Concrete Off of Vinyl Siding
Completing concrete projects around the house often leaves a mess. Cleaning it up before it dries is preferable but not always feasible. Finding dried concrete on the surface of vinyl siding might make a momentary panic rush through, but removal is not that difficult. You will need to protect your eyes and hands from the caustic cleaning solution it will require. Muriatic acid and a scrub brush will remove dried concrete in no time. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
- Dust mask
- Plastic-bristle brush
- Plastic spray bottle
- Muratic acid cleaner
- Sponge
- Garden hose
- Baking soda

Brush the dried on concrete with a plastic bristle brush. This will remove any of it that is loose and save a lot of scrubbing.

Mix ¼ cup of muratic acid with warm water in a plastic spray bottle. Soak the concrete with the mixture. Begin scrubbing the dried on concrete with the scrub brush. Repeat spraying the acid mixture and scrubbing to remove the concrete. Rinse the surface with a garden hose.

Mix ½ cup of baking soda and warm water in the spray bottle. Saturate the vinyl surface heavily that had muratic acid applied. This will deactivate the acid. Wipe with a sponge and rinse the surface with the garden hose. Let the vinyl siding air dry.

Tips & Warnings
Muratic acid is available at home and garden centers near the pool cleaning agents.
Wear a dust mask when brushing the concrete. The dust is harmful to breathe.
Always wear gloves and safety glasses when working with concrete and muratic acid. Either will cause chemical burns to the skin and eyes.
