How to Find My Child's AOL Search History
Many children use the Internet in order to play games, chat with their friends and access homework help resources. Some surf the Web using online portals such as America Online (AOL) or Yahoo. Unfortunately, it is possible for children to stumble upon material that is not age-appropriate or come into contact with predators while surfing the Web. You may wish to monitor your child's online behavior by checking the search history on her AOL account.

Tips & Warnings
Activate the "SafeSearch" feature on your child's AOL account. It filters websites containing explicit sexual material that come up as Web or image search results. You can choose between a strict and moderate filter setting. AOL allows users to disable SafeSearch at any time.
You can further protect your child's online experience by using AOL's Parent Controls settings. Parental Controls allow you to put limits on your child's AOL email, instant messaging clients such as AIM and AOL Chat, Web surfing, downloads and time spent online. Only screen names belonging to an adult or the master screen name can set or alter Parental Controls.
Contact your local or state law enforcement agency, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children or the FBI if you believe that your child is in danger as a result of online interaction.
