How to Identify Holley Carbs

Holley has been building carburetors for a long time now, so there are a lot of different types out there to choose from. If you buy a used carb, it's nice to know what model it is so you can order parts or make sure it works for your application. If you have the right tools and tips, this is an easy job.

      Clean the side of the carburetor above the airhorn or choke tower using the wire brush and degreaser.

      Locate the part number listed on the side of the carb. It will start with an "R," followed by either four or five numbers, and possible a hyphen and a single digit.

      Look up the part number in the Holley Part Number Reference Guide. This will tell you everything you need to know about the carburetor, including the model number, CFM, and what replacement parts it uses.
