Romaine lettuce calls out for a dressing that enhances its crisp texture and savory flavor. An Italian-style dressing is easy to make and provides the perfect seasoning to a salad. This recipe calls for balsamic vinegar, but you can substitute regular wine vinegar if desired.
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1 cup white wine
- ½ cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of crushed garlic
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- ¼ cup grated Romano cheese
Add the olive oil and vinegar to a salad dressing shaker and shake well.
Add crushed garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, oregano, white wine and grated Romano to the dressing shaker.
Shake vigorously for about five minutes. If the dressing separates, shake it for an additional two minutes.
