How to Retrieve an Email Password
Whether you're expecting an important business email or you just want to catch up with a friend, being locked out of your email account because you have forgotten your password can be a frustrating experience. Fortunately, most email providers offer a password retrieval tool to aid you in resetting or retrieving that lost password.

Navigate to your email provider's website.

Look for a link that says something like "Forgot your password?" or "I can't access my account." Click the link.

Enter your email username when prompted. You may also be asked to provide other identifying information, such as your date of birth or zip code. Click the appropriate button to continue to the next step.

Answer your secret question, if applicable, and press "Enter." Some providers will allow you to reset or view your password at this point, while others may send password information to a secondary email address associated with your account.

Tips & Warnings
Internet service providers (ISP) and businesses usually don't offer online password retrieval tools. If you have forgotten the password to your work or ISP email address, contact your company's system administrator or the customer service line of your Internet provider to request your password.
