Instructions

    • 1

Flip the Coke can upside down. Use the tip of a knife to poke a very small hole into the bottom of the Coke can. This could get messy, so do this over the sink. Drain all of the liquid out of the Coke can until it is completely empty.

    • 2

Turn the can back over and use the can opener to remove the top of the can. Grip the top of the can and cut underneath the "lip" of the can. Remove the entire lid from the can.

    • 3

Wash the Coke can with mild detergent and warm water to remove all of the soda. Rinse the can well. Sand down any rough edges on the can using sandpaper. The lid should still fit nicely on top of the Coke can.

    • 4

Remove the lid on your jar. Use a hot glue gun to glue the lid of the jar to the underside of the Coke can lid that you removed. Allow the lid to dry.

    • 5

Use a small drop of superglue to seal the hole that was made on the bottom of the Coke can. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 6

Follow the instructions on the bag of plaster of paris. Mix it in a bowl and pour the mixture into the can. Fill it only about halfway to the top.

    • 7

Screw the lid to the top of the jar. Slowly lower the jar into the can. Make sure that it is in the center and that the plaster of paris covers at least half of the jar. Screw on the lid and allow the plaster of paris to dry.

    • 8

Unscrew the lid from the can and place your valuables inside. Screw the lid back on and place the safe somewhere in your home.
