Instructions

    • 1

Buy a large plastic-foam sphere or cone, depending on the shape you plan for the centerpiece. If you have a long table, make several conical and spherical lollipop centerpieces to place along the length of the table.

    • 2

Determine a color scheme and select lollipops for the centerpiece. Wrap lollipops in a clear cover in order to display the color of the candy and add interest to the centerpiece. Use Multicolored and solid-colored lollipops. Each will give the decoration a different feel.

    • 3

For a sphere, use a serrated knife to cut off the bottom. This creates a flat surface allowing the decoration to rest on the table. Or cut the sphere in half, creating two dome shapes. There is no need to cut the cone, which already has a flat bottom.

    • 4

Paint the plastic-foam shapes with a base color that fits in with the color theme of the decorations. Use foam paint, as other types of paints will not dry completely. Add decorative elements such as other colors and designs on top of the base coat. Allow each layer of paint to dry completely before adding another layer.

    • 5

Insert the lollipops into the foam base. Press the lollipop sticks into the base until they are completely inserted. Begin at the bottom of the base, and work in a spiral motion as you move up the form. Stick some lollipops farther into the base to create more dimensions. Space the lollipops so the entire form is covered with the candies.

    • 6

Place the centerpiece on the table. Use museum wax on the bottom of the base to secure it to the table and prevent the centerpiece from falling over when lollipops are removed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add one multicolor swirly lollipop to the top of the form, with coordinating solid colors around the edges.
