A woman oozing confidence and living life to the fullest.

According to Marguerite Rigoglioso's 2011 article, which was published in Stanford's Graduate School of Business' website, women with masculine traits, confidence being one of those traits, get more promotions. Interestingly, Rigoglioso also points out how these women with masculine traits are chameleons because they know how to "self-monitor." In other words, these women know which social and professional situations require their masculine attitudes and those that do not. Yet, confident women do not have to be aggressive, masculine, mean, or tyrannical. The confidence in the Stanford report is not authentic confidence. Learn how to be an authentically confident woman and live the life you were always meant to live.

  1. How to Become a Confident Woman

    • 1

Refuse to pretend to be someone or something that you are not. Embrace your flaws and your gifts. According to author Joyce Meyer, a truly confident woman avoids comparisons and lives up to her own standards.

Cope with constructive criticism. Part of being a confident woman, according to Meyer, is learning. In her " Women of Wisdom Performance Magazine," Meyer says: "A confident person is open to learning because she knows her confidence allows her to walk through life's doors, eager to discover what waits on the other side." Learn and know that you will likely make mistakes. Let others help you, learn from them and be fearless.

Find your voice. The days of the demure and submissive woman are ancient history. Confident women have opinions (just like all humans), and they are not afraid to share them because they know that what they have to share is important. Confident women's opinions are steadfast.

Learn to give and learn to take without feelings of guilt and shame. A common trap for women (especially mothers) is to give to everyone, all the while neglecting themselves and their needs. Recognize your mortality and limits. A confident woman knows that she comes first, and in order to keep her confidence up requires maintenance. Spa dates, manicures, and a good book are simple examples of what a confident woman can do for herself.

Live in the present. Cesar Millan, who's known as "The Dog Whisperer," tells the humans that he is training to do this since their dogs already know how to. Confident women know that there are no guarantees, so they cherish every moment and live it like it was their last. Let go of the past and stop planning the future because all that you have is now.

Smile at the world. When a woman is happy and fulfilled from the inside, there's no way that it can be contained. Dare to be your amazing self and smile.
