A trip to the car wash just does not seem to do the trick when you try to remove them. It is important to remove them however, because bug remains are highly acidic and could potentially damage your paint job. Fortunately, there are a few effective methods for getting rid of them.

  • Pair of panty hose
  • White vinegar
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Ammonia
  • Vinegar
  • Spray bottle (32 oz.)

      Apply a liberal amount of white vinegar to an old pair of panty hose that you have bunched up in your hand.

      Rub the marks firmly for one safe and non-scratch method of removing the bug remains from your paint job. Rinse and dry the area to finish.

      Remove more stubborn bug marks out by first preparing a cleaning solution of a few drops of liquid dish soap, 1 tbsp. ammonia, 1/4 cup vinegar and warm water in a 32-oz. spray bottle.

      Shake the bottle well and spray the bug marks. Allow the solution to work on the bug marks for five minutes.

      Rub the marks off with a clean rag, rinse and dry.
