How to Troubleshoot Microsoft Word for Mac

Microsoft Word is a very popular word processing program for computers. The Macintosh version does not follow all the conventions of the Mac's operating system. This can cause it to shut down unexpectedly, causing the partial or complete loss of a Word document that was being worked on. Troubleshooting Microsoft Word for data file corruption will enable the damaged file to be repaired and used. This will keep the time spent creating a word document from being lost.

Tips & Warnings

  • Save your document files often so as to avoid losing work should Microsoft Word crash. Make copies of the finished Word documents and store them on another hard drive or onto a CD or DVD. Should the Word document being used get corrupted and refuse to load into Microsoft Word, there is a backup to use instead.

  • The license for using Microsoft Word on a Macintosh is for one particular computer. Putting a copy on multiple Macintosh computers will cause the program to refuse to work if more than one copy of the program is running.
