How to Show or Hide Your Computer's Clock

If you don't want to see just how long you've been playing "Quake," you can hide the clock on your computer's taskbar. These instructions are for Windows 98. Instructions for other operating systems or versions may vary.

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Windows
  1. Step 1

    From the Start menu, click on Settings and then on Taskbar and Start Menu. A window will open.

  2. Step 2

    Click on Taskbar Options.

  3. Step 3

    If you want the clock to show in the Taskbar, select the checkbox beside "Show Clock."

  4. Step 4

    To hide the clock, remove the checkmark from the box.

  5. Step 5

    Click OK to save your changes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hiding the clock simply removes it from view. The clock continues to run, and your documents' properties will continue to be time-stamped.
