How to delete your cookies on your computer? Deleting your cookies will help many computers work faster. You can also delete your browsing history with this method. Many online sites use cookies to track your computer experience. To delete your cookies you need to follow the below steps. This article is for Internet Explorer users.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet
  • Computer mouse
  1. Step 1

Click on your Internet Explorer Icon! Connect to the internet by double clicking your computer mouse. Your home page should appear. You may have a msn home page, google home page, yahoo or aol home page. Which ever page that pops up you can still use this article to delete your cookies. I don't mean cookies that you eat. I mean the little bits of computer code that is released when you view an internet website.

  2. Step 2

Click on tools! When you click on tools, a list of options should appear. Some will say: Pop up blocker, tool bars, explorer bars etc... At the button of the list, it should have the "internet options" tab.

  3. Step 3

Choose internet options. A box should now appear, at the top of the box it says: Internet Options! On the main screen it should have a "delete browsing history" box. You now need to click on the box so that there is a check mark inside of the box.

  4. Step 4

Hit delete after you checked the box. This will delete your browsing history, saved passwords, temporary files and your cookies. A smaller box will appear and it will show files being transferred to your recycle bin. You can now hit ok at the main internet option box. The box should close after you hit ok. You now need to go empty your recycle bin for a permanent deletion of your files, saved passwords, history and cookies!

Tips & Warnings
  • I suggest restarting your computer as well. This will help you make sure your history is deleted so that someone else can not see what you have been up to online. This is a great way to protect your personal information as well.
