How to Play Barrel of Monkeys

Since it hit stores in 1966, Barrel of Monkeys has entertained countless children with its quick and easy game play. Your objective is to make as long a chain of monkeys as you can without dropping any of them. Barrel of Monkeys is currently produced by Hasbro.

Instructions

1. Pour the toy monkeys onto a floor or tabletop.

2. Hold one monkey by his curved arm.

3. Connect another monkey to the first monkey's other arm.

4. Repeat to make as long as a chain as possible. If playing with another person, your turn is over when you drop a monkey. You have to start over on your next turn.

5. Take turns with a friend to see who can make the longest chain to decide the winner.

Tips & Warnings

• If you want to play alone, time yourself and see how quickly you can make a chain of 12 monkeys.

• Take precautions when playing the game with children. The toy monkeys pose a choking hazard.
