A personal computer is just as capable of playing state-of-the-art video games as any gaming system you can hook up to your television. If you have a PC laptop, you can enjoy the added benefit of taking the games with you to play on the road, at a friend's place or at the coffee shop. The problem is, you typically need the disc to play the game, and if you like to play several different titles in one sitting, bringing them with you can add too much bulk. This can be circumvented pretty easily.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC installation disc
  1. Step 1

Remove the video game if you currently have it installed. Click "Start," followed by "All Programs" and finally the name of the game. There should be an option to uninstall the game. When you select this, you are asked if the computer should remove all saved games. Click "No" if you want to keep your saved games.

  2. Step 2

Insert the PC game's CD into the computer. In a moment the installation wizard will launch.

  3. Step 3

Read through the license agreement and accept it. Follow the prompts until you reach the type of installation page.

  4. Step 4

Select "Full Installation" from the list of installation types. The options will usually be for full, typical or custom. The full installation installs all program files, sound effects and videos onto the computer so the disc is not needed.

  5. Step 5

Complete the installation process. Remove the disc, and you are all set to play your PC game without the CD.
