How to Design Your Own Game Character
Video Game characters are important aspects of any successful video game. Sometimes when we think about a specific video game we can remember the character much better than the entire game itself. Making your own video game character can be a fun and exciting way to release some creativity.

1
Brainstorm for ideas, think about what race you want your character to be, what gender, and how tall or small you want the character to be.
-
2
Create a backstory for your character. A backstory is about why your character acts and looks the way he does. When creating a backstory, think about things like "where did my character come from" and "why does my character look like this." Once you have a "story" to help shape your character and a general idea of what you want her to look like, start drawing her out.

-
3
Draw the shell of the character, the body, head and limbs without detail. Remember how tall or small you wanted your character to be.
-
4
Fill in the details of the body, adding muscle definition and physical details like body hair, scars and battle marks.
-
5
Detail the face, adding eyes, nose, mouth and other facial markings like scars, marks and facial hair.
-
6
Add the clothing and other props like weapons or distinct objects that your character uses.
-
7
Once you have a rough sketch of your character you will need to make a model sheet. A model sheet contains different views of your character and details certain physical attributes and props you have created. Start by creating a front view of your character.
-
8
Create a side view of the character, making sure to keep it proportional to the front view.
-
9
Draw a back view of your character. Ensure that it is proportionate to the other two views.
-
10
Finally, create an "action" pose. This pose is different from front and side views because it should show your character in a moving position. Try showing your character jumping or swinging a weapon, for example.
